The Rails core team has released Rails 2.0.2. It just keeps getting better and better, and faster and faster. Here’s a breakdown of the updates. For more details, check out the blog of Cheah Chu Yeow.

ActionPack

  • Configurable asset hosts
  • Asset cache directories are automatically created

Railties changes

  • Default database is now SQLite3
  • Template loading is faster
  • New rake tasks for migrations
  • rake task for generating secret keys

There are rumors that 2.1 is floating about on the horizon. We at ADS are looking forward to it. We were also happy to see he announcement that RSpec 1.1 supports Rails 2.0. Great stuff.
