socialmarkets, an ADS client, is being featured on Marketplace on NPR today.

socialmarkets is building the foundation for a true social capital marketplace. This is only possible through the measurement of both social good and the risk involved in its creation; and this is only possible with the cooperation of both those who create social good and those who invest in them. “I started this almost a year ago now” said Allan Benamer, Executive Director of socialmarkets. “Besides my marriage, it’s the greatest experience of my life. We are crazy in that we’re trying to reform the nonprofit sector but it’s important to try. I couldn’t even have gotten this far without my business partner, Jeff Tuller, believing in the idea and funding the project. However, the experience of working with Robert Dempsey and Matt Elhotiby over at ADS has made it that much better. They give our organization added agility that’s hard to have when you’re as small as we are.” The launch of the new socialmarkets.org site is planned for November 21st, so stay tuned.
