ADS Podcast On The Way - Your Advice Requested
By: Robert Dempsey | Tags:A while back I had an idea to write a book on the business side of web development. Knowing how much I read on a daily basis (I monitor 350+ RSS feeds and read business/marketing/technology books and magazines), and after talking with friends who are writing books, I have decided to do a podcast. The ADS podcast will cover the business side of web development - from start to finish, interspersed with interviews of business owners. The equipment has been purchased, outlines are being written, and now we need your advice. Help us determine the proper length of our podcast by taking this short survey:

I’m very interested in this podcast — let me know how it’s coming along and when it goes live.
The big trick is going to be keeping it engaging for more than 10 or 15 minutes. For a talky podcast, you really have to change up the format a bit to make it work: check out radio programs like “In the Loop”(1) and “Marketplace” (2) for examples that I like.

Robert,
I completely agree. I listen to NPR on a regular basis here in Orlando and am familiar with the format. I will refamilarize myself just in case also. The plan is for some of the podcasts to be somewhat talky and also interview successful business people that can offer advice as well. Speaking of advice, thank you for yours.

Diego - let me see what I can do. Currently, I monitor about 350. I might be able to clip a few and post them for you.
