ADS welcomes Chris and promotes Naomi

By: Robert Dempsey | Tags:

We are happy to announce that Atlantic Dominion Solutions has hired a new Rails developer, Chris Kaukis, and promoted Naomi Butterfield to team lead. Naomi has been doing an excellent job since she started, is great with all of our clients, and even volunteered to help out with the Rails For All classes. Her promotion is well deserved. Chris has worked on numerous Ruby on Rails projects, and is ready to hit the ground running.

The 411 on Chris

Chris Kaukis was hired by Interworks, Inc., a small I.T. outsourcing company in Stillwater, Oklahoma, while pursing his BA in Computer Science at Oklahoma State University. After graduating in May of 2006, he began his first projects in earnest, which involved adding features to an old Point Of Sale system written in FoxPro.

After a few months at Interworks, Chris was introduced to Ruby on Rails. He instantly fell in love. He started to bug his managers on a daily basis about getting Rails work, but to no avail. He then contacted Brian (one of the coolest guys he ever met) at mirRoR Placement on RubyForge. Many months passed until the perfect job showed up - working at ADS. “I nearly passed out after reading the offer email from Rob,” said Chris Kaukis, “it was surreal.”

“We are very happy to have Chris join our team” said Robert Dempsey, Project Director of Atlantic Dominion Solutions. “He is a young and enthusiastic programmer that will work perfectly with our growing team.”
